In my spare time when I am not  gardening, golfing or  entertaining grandchildren, I like to paint. Oh, by the way housework comes along way down the list! So, it is probably  from this that my eye for colour has lead me to create this garden.  Colour usually  helps me to decide which plants to use first, before the  impulse to 'must have that plant' takes over. 

The key has been to, know your soil conditions, and plant the right plant in the right place.  Whilst there have been a few casualties, the overall effect  is still very pleasing.
